How can you raise small cans to spray paint efficiently?

I've used even smaller cans (with rocks in the bottom for weight so it won't tip over) and put the can I want to paint on top. That way I can get all the way to the bottom edge with no problem.
It takes a few practice cans to be able to do a perfect job.
You could put a dowl rod in them and then put the dowel rod in a jar weighted down
I often suspend items on thin wires or S-hooks to effectively spray paint all sides with thin coats of spray paint.
Last year I hung my metal hammock stand components from a tree branch to spray paint it!
