Meats and grease should never be put in a compost pile as it will smell and draw in the animals. I put banana skins in my compost daily and eventually they do break down. Just pull them apart by shredding to the base of the banana and you will notice they will break down quicker. They are also good for the garden.

Definitely nothing meat, and milk products. I would also avoid some foods that may bring in rodents or other critters.

I put anything that's not meat out there. I would rather it went in my garden/back yard than a landfill.

We do not put meat or pet waste. Trying to keep it green, all veggies, coffee grounds, grass clippings, twigs, leaves and when I make wine everything remaining in the process gets added (the mice get hangovers)!
