This is actually really great-all you need to do to remove the fabric is use a wet sponge and soak the corners until they fall away from the walls. They should come right off! Try using a paint roller to apply the starch to the wall. It is less messy and faster than using a brush or dipping the fabric into a container of starch. Also, use a plastic container with a lid to hold your starch mixture. It can then be stored away if you are interrupted.
Fabric makes a great wall treatment. I put it in my powder room about 3 years ago with absolutely no problems. Cleaning it is a breeze since all you need to do is vacuum (I use a hand vac) About a year ago I did take the fabric down to wash it and freshen the color. I put the fabric back up and it looks like new.
My daughters have done this in three apartments with no problems removing it and leaving no residue after a little wetting down and scrubbing the walls.
