Would it devalue my fireplace to paint it out in white? It is currently gray brick.
We have built-ins on either side of our gray brick fireplace, and I would love to paint the fireplace out in white. However, my husband feels it would be a bad idea.
I would use the gold brass color only as an accent on a part of the wall - use it as a focal point - not on the entire 40 foot wall section. The rest of the wall covered in pink flowers I would paint the same color as the soft beige or the cream on the other side (or as close as you can get a match).
I agree with jlnatty, an all brassy gold wall would be a bit much. You know using it as an accent color would really make it stand out more. Whether it being a faux paint technique or a border that has the gold color blended with other colors to compliment your floors.
I would like to thank you all for your input. I will be painting all the flower wall in a cream and doing a gold stencil on top of it.
