Make sure the items are cleaned. Moths are not as attracted to clean wool. Even if you don't see any thing on the clothing, there is residue. So hand wash or dry clean any wool. A cedar closet, a cedar chest was designed to be used before there were ever moth balls. Cedar is how are ancestors (if they were lucky) were able to protect their things. Completely encasing your clothing like a cedar chest is the best protection. But they make cedar hangers, cedar blocks. Ask around and see anyone has a cedar tree they are cutting down. (my brother has given me a bunch of it) . They also make a cedar thin paper product that can be used to wall paper the wall sin your closet. Moth balls (para diclorabenzyne) is a benzene therefore is a cancer risk. Limit your contact. Cloths stored with moth balls must be aired.
