What is the best way to regrow grass on bare spots in my lawn?

For the seeding....apply a few inches of top soil, lime, grass seed for your area, top with starter fertilizer and cove with peat moss....keep moist until germinated....for the ivy cut it back as much as you can and use Orthos Brush b gone

They make a seed -actually a few brands-that are specially made for this. They not only are specific to bare spots, but contain the fertilizer and mulch to hide from birds etc to allow its growth.

For the ivy, I have used brush killer and it works well. Most brands should be sufficient. Available at home stores, or Amazon.

The one by the driveway,what caused it? Was it just to narrow of a driveway that you have to step on grass to get out of car? Mine is and that's why I ask,I plan on having my husband widen it and then putting paver down that way I can get out of car and no touch grass,it needs to be done on both sides of my driveway. I don't know if that helps.

Sure, I have used two. I have had more satisfaction with the Pennington for some reason. Not sure why. However, there is Pennington One Step, and then Scotts makes one called Scotts EZ Step. Good luck!
