First, you need to make sure you pull or dig up all the weeds that are already in the garden, or you are going to still have weeds. I use Preen Weed Preventer each spring after I have planted my veggies, I put it down as I finish planting each section. It prevents weed seeds from germinating. It does nothing to weeds that spread by their roots, like Creeping Charlie. Those you make sure you get all the roots by working from the end of the line and working your way back to the mother plant. Clean them out about six inches or more outside the perimeter of the garden and you can catch them as they come into the garden. It doesn't stop tree seeds, as they are not a weed until they are in the gardens. Doing all this will keep your garden pretty much weed free for a few months other than the root creepers. Follow the directions on the container for reapplying when you start seeing more weeds in the garden. I spend maybe fifteen minutes a week pulling weeds that creep in and that's it.

Here is the recipe for vinegar weed killer: 1 gallon white vinegar, 1 cup table salt & 1 Tablespoon of Dawn. Don't spray it on grass or plant or else it will kill them too. Good luck Allpeg :)
