I have 5 Lantana in my front flowerbeds. How do I dig them up?

I trimmed them back. So many roots. They are really tough. I tried, and they got the best of me. Would like to keep 2 and give the rest to friends. They smell like lemon and the bees and butterflies love them. Please help.

Start by digging about 8 or so inches away from the base. Sink shovel as far as you can. Then force shovel to the ground lifting all the soil and roots as you go. Do this in 3 to 4 places and it should come up with soil. Shake off or just carry soil to new location.
