Are Pelmets for windows out of date?

The pelmet on our lounge room window is there to cover up the attachment of the curtains. If I remove it, then what could I do instead. There is a ledge at the top and the previous owner put ornaments there which I thought looked odd.

  • Certainly a more formal window treatment, generally seen in older or more stately homes. My vote, I like them and would keep them, just with updated fabric. Things are certainly much more casual, and I miss the "regal" look. Ask most people and they will confuse them with a cornice, if they even know what that is. Designers and hard core DIY'ers will and let's see what everyone else has to say.

Depends if you follow ar lead or buck the trends. I'm afraid I am not dictated to buy fashion, I am an individual and if I like it it stays........... Some of my rooms have Pelmets and some don't...........Be your own person!
