Knockout roses would be nice, very easy to care for.

Yes Knock out roses are very easy to care for and give you color all season long. Then add a few annuals like germaniums. I would move the bench out and put in 3 knock out roses, and place the bench in front of them. You just have to move it when you cut the grass.

If you are wanting annuals, periwinkle (vinca) love the sun and come in a variety of showy colors. They bloom all season until frost. There are many annuals that love sun as well as perennowls. Check with your local garden center or call your county extension service. They will give you lots of suggestions.

Happy, cheerful, marigolds! they come in a variety of colors and sizes. They are not fussy as to care....and they will re-seed themselves next year.

Any sun loving flowers and bushes would thrive. You could put in some potting soil and mulch and start a rose bed. Roses love sun. Petunias do well, geraniums, sweet williams, and many others. To get your own ideas, look in your local nursery. They have markers in each pot and you will know which ones love all day son, half day sun, or no sun. Chose the types you like and be sure to follow the instructions on watering, especially in the heat of summer.
