get some Irish Spring bar soap and shave it into pieces. Spread the shavings all around the hosta plants. Rabbits don’t like the strong fragrance. If you still have a problem, sprinkle cayenne pepper on the ground around the plants.

CHICKEN WIRE CAGE around them. After a while, the rabbits will get OUT OF THE HABIT of returning there & go somewhere else, then remove the cage. You could use chemicals or soaps but they only harm the rabbits over time & possibly could kill them. If you're only wanting to deter them, just use this barricade until they break their habit. Also, don't put food out for the birds or squirrels without a secure way of the food NOT being able to drop to the ground. The rabbits love to eat them & they will keep coming back. MAKE SURE they're not nesting or have babies underground before you put the cage up so you won't kill the babies. Rabbits are loving parents & will need to get back to their nest/babies. Wild rabbits live in burrows underground & the hostas are a perfect cover against predators!!

Hi Jay, I purchased a plastic owl from TSC. They're not the most attractive looking things but they do deter the rabbits. Not all but the trick is that you need to move it periodically.

I spray Liquid Fence. You have to follow directions and do it frequently at first, but it does the trick. I buy the cheaper mix your own type.
