The gopher is bound to have burrows and a family nearby. If you can find the holes, drop moth balls in each one. Some people try to flood them out, but I think that just gives them better soil to burrow in. Just my opinion. ☺️

Borrow someone‘s dog. I had 7 chewing up my yard and shrubs. Paid a professional who only killed ONE in 8 weeks!! I finally was dog sitting for 7 days and left the dog out to run around my yard. Within that week all the ground hogs relocated!

    Get a live trap

    Here's my story.

Last summer {2017}, I wanted to start feeding the birds, so I bought some cute bird feeders. Wasn't long after that I had a unwanted guest living under my deck, yup a gopher. I checked around the bottom of my deck and I had a piece of loose lattice and that's how he was getting in and then he dug a hole on the other side to get out.

I took all my new bird feeders down, cleaned up all the bird food on the ground and threw it away. Then I went to Blain's Farm & Fleet and bought a live trap, I bought the one that came with 2 sizes {It was on sale for like $30.00 a smaller one and one a little bit bigger}.

I took a empty tuna fish can punched a couple of holes in the can and wired it to the back of the trap, so he couldn't get the can out of there. I put some cut up pieces of apple in the can. I wasn't sure where to place the trap so I put the bigger size a couple of feet from where it was going in and put the smaller one on the side where he was going out and within a couple of days I caught him/her in the trap where it was going in under my deck. I then had a friend take it way way way out in the country {I live in town}.

After I caught it, I took all my old wood lattice down and put new plastic type of lattice up.

    P.S

here is a link to the trap I bought:

I hope this helps and Good Luck.

  • If you or if you know anyone who has snakes, keep the skin when they shed and place a good long piece in each in hole. They won't be back. Tried and true!
