cut them under running water like your kitchen sink with the ends under the running water. Then put them in a vase of water. Some people add 7 up soda pop to help them stay fresh longer. If your home is very warm like summer with no a/c they can go in the refrigerator until evening cooler temps. You can buy stay fresh chemicals to add to the vase water also. They also make it for keeping Christmas trees fresh longer. Hope this helps
I cut the stems a little more each day, use aspirin it citric acid, and move them to a shorter vase when a need to. Then I usually let them die and gather the rose petals for potpouri.
Recut the ends and immediately place in water. Change water every day, recut the ends every few days.
