So I took out 3 closets to put in a foyer ( best decision ever)

I'm struggling a bit to decorate because my husband has his home office through the door to the right and our dining room is immediately to the left. The home is a cape cod with a contemporary feel. Tons of renos including wall removals. I would like a wow factor but practical too . Any suggestions out there?

To start put a mirror over the tables picture on the furthest wall, keep the office door closed to imagine the rest of the decorating based on your style

Oriental style runner to match / coordinate what you have on the stairs. Take a color out of the rug for the wall. A bright print / painting or mirror above the shelving unit. Or take that piece out, and put an upholstered bench there.

Thank you! I'm not crazy about the runner and was thinking about removing. I am trying to find a runner that is blue and cream but WOW that's hard to find....

Hi Muriel. I would hang a large mirror above the table. Then I would put a floral arrangement on the table.

Looks great, I agree with above, a great oriental rug, and then either a piece of art over the console table or a big round/oval mirror.

Needs some sort of color. Art, plants, rugs, pictures.

my daughter has a wall sized space similar to yours in her house (between two doors) here it is at Xmas time. The mirror I bought her at a yard sale for $15 and I don't think the table cost much more. She also does have a very beautiful rug in this area.

Repurpose unique door that fits your style, add base of tall, narrow cabinet for storage, top with shelf, hang mirror and smaller shelves/or hanging metal baskets to sides of it, or wood carvings, pictures whatever works for you. Paint and hardware to match decor. Add flowers or display items to shelf, basket or hooks for keys, maybe one underneath for umbrella

Now that the closets are gone, where do jackets and coats go? I would put a gorgeous hall tree there with storage under the seat. There are many sizes and styles. Here is the link for a search I did. https://smile.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=hall+tree

thank you! We left a cubby just inside the door to the right to hang coats for guests. We have a full breezeway closet for all our stuff . Either way tho a free standing gorgeous tree would look awesome

I guess I was thinking some art on the wall but the idea of a mirror isn't a bad idea either. Either way, I would say it needs color.

Is there an electrical outlet plug on the wall behind the table? The area looks to me like it is shadowy. I would definitely add some sort of lighting,- not bright task light, but a lower lumen light. This could be in the form of a unique or themed small lamp, or mini-lights woven in between a tall dried flower or still-life arrangement. Keeping the lights on in the evening would add 3D texture to the flat wall, and would give ambiance to the area.
