HUD has some programs for fixing homes in this situation. My aunt had her roof done. There were some restrictions such as she had to then live in the house for an additional 5 years.

Also our local electric company did an efficiency test on our house and they offered us a free combination storm and screen door.

Do you have a Habitat for Humanity Restore in your community. Often there are pretty nice windows and doors that have been donated. They are offered at low cost. They are used, but most in good condition. You can also get new windows 1 or 2 a time. I did my house and divided it up into 3 parts. Doing one section at a time, and paying for it, before saving for the next set of windows.

Get all your measurements for the window openings, and the door. Then join Freecycle.org on the computer, sign up for your city and state, and then post a Wanted request seperately for a door and the windows. You would just need to pick them up.

Second, check around your area for a Habitat for Humanity Restore, they get a wealth of doors and windows and its cheap.

Third, check around your area for one of those cheap vinyl window replacement stores.... we have one here that sells any window $99.

Oh, forgot you can also apply for a grant or loan cheap with the HUD Rural Housing https://www.rd.usda.gov/programs-services/single-family-housing-repair-loans-grants if you are disabled and have a case worker, you can tell her the problems and she if she will help you qualify for a grant. They do that here for seniors and then Habitat for Humanity does the repairs,

Habitat for humanity also has some programs you can apply to for repairs. Some require participation in that project or others. See them for availability in your area. If you aren't able, maybe a friend or family member could participate for you.

In Oregon if you are 200% under the poverty level you qualify for help with household items like windows, roofing, doors, etc. If you make too much to quality you should be able to afford to pick up the needed items at a second hand shop. Contact you church to see if members who are in the construction business are willing to get you something at their price.

My husband and I just bought outside windows for the entire house, not the entire window. When we painter the house we basically redid the window frames from the outside and repainted them, then put the new windows up. They are like a combination screen window and storm window. We live in a very cold climate. As we could afford we have replaced the doors, starting with the worst and then going from there. Plus you need a reliable carpenter to help frame the doors if you can't do that yourself. It's a process.
