What is a good groundcover or type of grass for shady yard?

Question

My yard has over a dozen mature Oak trees on it and soil is very acidic. Trying to find a good alternative to grass, or a brand of grass seed that would grow. Any other groundcover that would thrive in this yard? Thanks Patty Smith

To get the best type / brand of grass seed is to check with your local nursery. Since they live in your area, they can best recommend a product that would work well in your environment and will also tell you how to properly plant and maintain it. Good luck!

Be environmentally friendly, use plants native to your area. A good ground cover that is a fast grower, easy to maintain, easily pruned & beautiful burgandy colored in the fall is Parthenocissus quinquefolia (VirginiaCreeper). Happy planting.
