Want a good challenge? Visit your local dollar store and check out their wide selection of holiday decorations and do dads. It can be overwhelming! Especially when on a quest to re-purpose some dollar store item into something new and different. And that's how two glittery shamrock-ribbon headbands became a wreath, perfect for bringing a touch of Irish luck to your front door.
Headbands turned St. Patrick's Day wreath
Using green yarn (or ribbon), cover a white foam wreath form. You can choose to cover the wreath completely, or cover it sporadically leaving much of the white wreath exposed. Fold a St. Patrick's Day-themed bandana in half and secure on top of wreath. I used a straight pin to attach it.
Use straight pins to secure items to wreath.
Now time for the headbands! The headbands I used had both ribbon and shamrocks. I took the various elements apart. The ribbons were attached (via straight pin) to the top of the wreath, on top of the bandana. The same was done with the shamrocks.
Pin shamrocks to top of wreath.
Bring some Irish bling to your home! Use a hot glue gun to secure a handful of gold coins to the ends of the ribbons. Happy St. Paddy's Day to ya! Get "lucky" this St. Patrick's Day with an easy felt banner.
