Why does my household plants especially herbs die during winter time .

When you bring in plants for the winter, the care changes. In the dry hot furnace air, they need more water than normal. They also are used to the nice bright outdoors they were living in and even a bright window may not give sufficient light. You may need a plant light and a moisture meter to let you know if they are getting too dry. We check ours twice a week when the furnace is running, and even then, my herbs don't always do good, even with grow lights. Mine never seem to make a good transition to being in the house.
