Send the dog to a trainer (take the dog out first thing in morning, after every mean and before going to bed. I have four rescue dogs and I have been very lucky. If you have sliding glass doors you can get a Pet Door that fits in the same runner. Most home depot or Lowes stock them. They are a life saver.
Try spritzing it with vinegar. You could also use one of the better ones you can get at pet stores. It seems like no matter how often dogs are bathed, they have their own odor they like to leave on the furniture and wherever they like to sleep. There is nothing worse than wet dog odor! If it is just on the surface, a light misting will work, if it has gone deeper, you may have to try again and use a heavier touch until the solution can get down deep enough.
