I love this stuff for my dingy whites - add it to your laundry detergent.
soak in a mixture of 1 c. washing soda and 1 cup hydrogen peroxide and enough very hot water to cover garment.
I have had great success with peroxide and Dawn dish soap and baking soda. Check out Google recipes. Also used OxyClean Whitener on a 30 year old Christening gown and it was fantastic!

first, I'd wash in plain water and 2 cups of baking soda; use as hot a water as is safe for the fabric. Soaps / fabric softeners build up a residue that can, over time, discolor fabric; I'm not familiar with the 'OUT' product recommended, but until you get all the 'leftover' soap/softener residue out of the clothes ( may take more than 1 cycle! ), and never dry on 'high' heat ... that can also yellow certain materials.
White Out sounds like a good product. Has a peroxide based bleaching agent, baking soda, softening agent, and citric acid. I use hydrogen peroxide when I wash my whites Much safer than bleach.
