Ideas for converting an old piano

I've seen so many. Here are a few to get you started:

Take out the keyboard, line the area to make it waterproof, and set in flower boxes. Or set in a fairy garden for the young ones.

Or turn the piano into craft storage. Take out the strings and either set in that space a bookcase that fits, or build shelves to hold lots of materials. Take out the keyboard and fill that space with plastic pencil boxes to hold more items. Then use Command strips and hooks or metal hooks to hold craft bags across and down one side. Put a white board down the other for craft notes, a calendar, or ideas. On the music stand, make sure you can put your phone, laptop or other devices with a charging station behind or in front of the music stand. For the pull out door that goes over the keyboard area, make a workshelf out of foam board on which you can do small projects. Store the foam board on top of the foot pedals, but remove the pedals if you can. On top of the piano, place your Cricut, mats, printer, etc. to keep them handy for you, but out of reach for most children’s hands. On one side of the knee space, hammer in long thin nails to store spools I’d thread or yarn. On the other side facing your knees, screw in a bunch of cup hooks to hold ribbons, twine, raffia, and embroidery thread. Inside the piano bench, store scissors, paintbrushes, small bottles of paint, and other misc. craft supplies. That would still leave fabric, big paints and cans, and who knows what else, but the piano would go a LONG way for craft storage. Best wishes ☺️
