3 Must Have Tips for Accessorizing a Leather Couch

Sometimes our leather couches can feel a bit out of place in a world of white slipcovers and neutral upholstery. But, we LOVE the comfort and practicality of our leather couch at the Hines house...and it gets so much better with age. After years of trying to add color and pattern to our couch, I finally got it! Not only do I feel like I got a new couch, I feel like a have a new living room. Talk about a room refresh!
A mixture of color and pattern bring the couch to life.
A cozy throw adds texture.
Break up a leather set with fabric/upholstery pieces. ( Do as I say, not as I do.)

If, like me, you have a set, put your leather chair in another room. It would be beautiful in a study or media lounge.
Add accessories behind your sofa to create a new focal point. With the pillows, accessories and curtains, the couch becomes a backdrop.

This is a good job of shifting focus from an imposing piece of furniture. I like leather but have never bought any sofas, chairs, etc. I just can't get past the idea they evoke of a library in an old English manor with dark panelling, heavy rugs and draperies!
