Your question seems a little broad. Search "headboards" on Hometalk. There are many post showing all different levels of complexity to choose from. When you find one, you can ask the author for more details, if necessary. Good luck.

easiest way is do a Faux Headboard. PAINT. Using painter's tape, tape off the shape and height right on the wall fill in with paint. Also there are awesome wallpapers that look like reclaimed wood, go vertical, or horizontal..then you can trim the "edges" by cutting out individual "planks from the roll.

. Be sure to get a brand that is 100% vinyl which makes removal EZ for real.

I have used an old flat interior door covered it in batten and then stapled an upholstery fabric to cover.

It depends on what kind of headboard you want. There’s a wonderful project on Hometalk for a tufted headboard that hangs on the wall using foam core board and batting. Good Luck!

Get an old door at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore and lay it sideways. This one has trim added to the top and 2 x 4's attached, but neither are necessary.
