Can you refinish a granite sink?

My sink has white stains and finish looks horrible. Had a painter clean her paint brushes in my sink without my knowledge and now the sink is stained and finish is almost gone. Wax and wax but only helps a little and stains come right back. Can I paint over this?

Have the painter replace it. Absolutely
I was told by installer to wipe it down with olive oil, When it gets white. Haven had to do it yet. I only use water and dish soap to clean my sink never anything else.
Problem is I would have to do this every time I used my sink. I polish it with granite polish but only a temporary fix and doesn't cover all the white stains.
