put it out on a clothes line hit it a few times with a base ball bat or rug beater to loosen the dirt. Then spray with hose. If you have the right attachment from a house wash product you can fill that bottle with a laundry detergent or better yet a carpet cleaner and spray with that. Rinse well and dry in a shady area to prevent fading.

  • Here is how I do mine (keep in mind, my rug lives on the patio year round).

First I pressure wash the patio and clean that. Then I lay the carpet down and pressure rinse it. Then I have a bucket of water with a cup of vinegar and a scant squirt of Dawn dish liquid. Pour that on the carpet. Take a long handled stiff (natural bristle) broom and work it in the rug. Rinse with hose. Then I drape over the fence and rinse again. Then I leave it there to drip dry. Where I live it is hot so mine dries pretty quickly.

Hi Suzanne, Depending how soiled the rug is, you could use either your outdoor hose and scrub with a brush, or get same result using a pressure washer. Lay it outside to dry over something like picnic table or lawn furniture. Best of luck to you.

I take mine outside, hose them, scrub them down with a bit of dish detergent and a stiff push broom then rinse and hang over a bunch of chairs or fence.
