Paint might not stick an any greasy grimey areas, clean well for the best paint job.
Mineral spirits. Not the earth friendly but the original. You must clean that off directly with a clean damp cloth with water, let dry completely.
They should be degreased and wiped clean before painting or you run the risk of the paint not adhering
