SK"s Lace French Lady Painted Doors

I craved fun new front doors. These doors were left without any varithane or other protectant. With the moisture in Oregon I need to make sure these doors are waterproof. I took some time figuring out a fun and unusual color combination and texture. .
These left for dead french doors needed to be sanded and prepped for paint.
Using a crayon I draw freehand leaves and vines. This was will keep the paint from adhering to the design.
I painted the first coat red.
When the first coat of red is dry, I paint a second coat Black and sand back edges for the antique look I like.
I keep plastic lace tablecloths to paint lace textures.
On the reverse side of the two french doors, I line the lace edge along the edge of the door.
Using a enamel spray paint I paint the first coat.
When the first coat is dry I paint a second coat of black.
Using a umber glaze I wipe both sides of the doors for an even older look.
