We have a queen size bed and I used a king size quilt. It was perfect as I like it to hang down longer on the sides.
Most are now full/queen that I find. Check out places like Bed Bath and Beyond that have higher end things. I ended up getting a king because I was sick of it being too small for the queen mattress and having to short it on one side to cover the side being seen and being short at the end of the bed. I guess they don't make them long enough to cover the pillows anymore.
Where do you want to shop? I find them everywhere. I always put a king comforter on a queen bed.
I've had very good luck with online sources, like figis.com and even Fingerhut. You don't have to make an account. Their shipping is a little higher, but you can sometimes get in on free shipping deals. I've gotten good quality bedding from both. Amazon is another source.
Walmart sells actual queen sized quilts
I also have a king size. Not all king quilts are the same dimensions so take that into account. If it's a set and comes with a dust ruffle you can fold the extra width under the mattress. A king quilt is smaller than a king bedspread so the bedspread my also be a option.
Almost all big stores like Walmart, Kmart, Macy's should carry what you need.
