I have ceiling fixture in bedroom or living room. HELP

Perhaps you can use a swag light. It's a light that hangs on the ceiling yet plugs into the wall. Or be creative and use outdoor lights strung around or gathered together to light your room up. If you google plug in swag light you'll find so many beautiful lights in every style color and size. I think that would work perfectly!

There have to be structural beams in the ceiling, use a stud finder and then you can put a hook into the beam. With duct work in your apt you could possibly use electrical cord and wire to hang a some Edison bulbs to keep with the industrial look of the duct work. There are a variety of clip on lights that can be attached to a bookcase or shelf. Strings of adhesive LED lights are lightweight and can be attached to almost anything, including upper kitchen cabinets. Go on Pinterest and search for lighting ideas, Ikea has lots of different lights to choose from and you can order on line.

You could add extra lighting with fairy lights that go around the perimeter of the room. They won't give you reading light, but they will add light to the room. Use small nails or cup holders to hang them wherever you want them.
