lol sorry! If the shade is glass you could use glass or faux stained glass paints. If it is a traditional type lamp I think paint would be pretty but would prevent the light from shining through. I decorated a paper type traditional shades with rubber stamps. It turned out beautifully and did not diffuse the light. Happy decorating!

Definitely! Sponge on acrylic craft paint in whatever color you like. Lots of ideas for this on Hometalk or Pinterest.
If it's fabric (not paper) I'd use fabric spray paint. It's much lighter and doesn't glob.
