Learn how to use your Cricut machine to turn a few sheets of cardstock and some embroidery floss into the perfect no-sew paper garland!

Even though I LOVE crafting, sometimes, I just want to make a simple project that is cute and that can be completed within an evening. If you have a Cricut machine, then you know that this dream of ''simple crafting'' is possible!

I use my Cricut machine to make so many projects throughout the year because it can really cut down on certain crafting steps and make things (like cutting out shapes) much easier. Case and point, today I will be showing you how simple it is to create a No-Sew Paper Garland using your Cricut! This no-sew paper garland is perfect if you are wanting to decorate your space or are in need of some simple party decor.

Here are the supplies you will need:

  • Cricut Explore Air or Cricut Maker (with Design Space)
  • Cricut Light Grip Mat
  • Three sheets of coordinating cardstock
  • Needle
  • Coordinating embroidery floss

Step 1: Select a shape in Cricut Design Space and cut multiple shapes from each color of cardstock. Then string each shape on to the embroidery thread with a needle.

Note- For my shape, I selected an arrow from the Bits & Pieces collection and used the layer without the cut-out.

Step 2: Once all of the shapes have been strung you can separate the shapes evenly along the embroidery thread.

And voila! With a few pieces of cardstock and some embroidery floss, you can create your own no-sew paper garland which is perfect for parties, a kid's room or backgrounds for photos!

I decided to use my garlands as a backdrop for my latest Cricut project, where we transformed an old drafting table (that we found at a yard sale) into the perfect table for my studio! If you are interested in learning more about the drafting table project, stop by my blog to get all the details.
