All my bathroom sinks smell when running water.

Every time I run water in the bathroom sinks, I smell this awful smell. It smells like a towel that got wet and smells mold, from being left in a dark damp place. We have tried cleaning it out, but the smell won’t go away! Any suggestion?

It might be that you have a lot of sulpher in your water, it will give an unpleasant odor
Could it be sewer gases? Does your bathroom sink drains have a Trap in the line? It looks like a “U” in the middle of your drain line and holds water to block gases from coming into your house.

First, do you know if there is a broken sewer pipe? It sounds to me like you are smelling the back draft of what is down below when use use the water.
Second, buy gallon jug of vinegar (cheap at hardware stores or dollar stores), and baking soda. Before going to bed pour some baking soda (1/4 cup) down the drain, followed by vinegar, slowly, until you see it bubbling. Do not use any water. Let this sit overnight. In the morning heat water, lots of water, maybe a tea kettle full. Pour down the sink.
I use this in all my sinks once a month, it is a great way to clean, and remove potential clogs too. Good luck.
It might be your drain put vinegar and baking soda let it Sizzle and it will clean it out
If you have the overflow holes in the sink, these may need to be rinsed with a baking soda and vinegar solution to remove any scum that has accumulated. Do the same with your drains. Pour the soda into the hole and then pour in enough vinegar to get it into the traps and leave sit for a while. You will hear the fizz when it is working. Rinse in an hour or so with hot water.
There is an overflow hole in the sink, the water that gets into that overflow hole gets stagnant, put some bleach/water mixture into it to take away the smell, or plug the sink and let is flow into the overflow for a couple of minutes

You could poor white vinegar into a Dawn or any brand liquid hand dish washing soap bottle and squeeze it into the overflow hole and let it sit overnight. That should help quite a bit if that is where the bad smell is coming from. Vinegar is a disinfectant and should do the trick in the drain and/or the overflow hole.
It sounds like the actual water is what is causing the smell. Perhaps have your water analyzed to see if your water quality has changed. You might think about a whole house RO water system that will give you purified water. That is what they use to make what they call the purified drinking water.
