Could you use lattice or blinds that raise and lower, even tension rods and curtains?
Tinyshoes beat me too it! I was fling to suggest a lattice with maybe jasmine growing on it. My front porch is similar but smaller. I planted 3 rosebushes - works great in summer as most people walking by never even notice. In winter a different story.
I also like the roll down shades and tension rod with curtain ideas too.
A frame made up with plastic lattice will give you the privacy you require.
We had lattice work on our porch. Had to rebuild porch so lattice went byby! We didn't need this for either privacy or shade, but just because it is so neat looking. On our front porch we did need light control. But planting a rhododendron took care of that. Took a while though. See it on right bottom picture.
