Change without removing

Any idea how to make my resisting hood cover look more metallic and in black without having to take it completely down ?

Hi Michelle, you should be able to purchase a new hood assembly to match or compliment your existing cabinetry,

That would be the least costly way to change the look. The amount of work to remake the hood cover while it is in place would cost more than the replacement of the cover, and would be less "down time in the kitchen" (removing the old, and installing the new.) As opposed to the "building one in place". Hope this helps

Rustoleum makes a spray for metal called Oily Antique Bronze. I did all my brushed nickel bathroom stuff with it and it is wonderful, I love it! You might call them to see if it would withstand heat over a stove though, just to be sure. Get some cheap painter's tarps to cover nearby areas when you spray.

Rustolium makes mettalic paint. But tape it off and put plastic to cover any cabinets and your stove.
