The other ingredient is typically water, however hydrogen peroxide is an oxidizer (like bleach) and should be used cautiously due to its ability to remove the color from the carpet. The mix should be around 50 to 1 (50 parts water to 1 part H.P. ) TEST an area before cleaning to ensure the carpet is color fast. Some carpet can actually be spot cleaned with bleach. However, this is the extreme or "last resort" do you know what type of stain your lioking to remove?
I've seen people say to use 3 percent hydrogen peroxide solution full strength.
I know my stains are coffee, soda, tea and popcicle. I am going to add some Dawn to my hp and water mixture. ☺️
Idk I have used peroxide to clean many things like blood out of carpet never mixed with water never had it take color out after all it was made as laundry booster. It does have limits as it works best on protein based stains.
My recipe might be one you have seen: 1 Tbsp Dawn blue dish detergent, 3 to 4 Tbsp hydrogen peroxide, 2 Tbsp baking soda. Scrub on with a scrubbing brush. Hope this helps.
I have used baking soda.
Use 1/4 cup of white vinegar, 1 tbsp. of Dawn dish soap, and fill with water. Spray area liberally and let soak for 5-10 minutes and then proceed with blotting with a clean, dry towel until stain is removed. Some carpet stain removal products can be of great benefit for combating many types of carpet stains.
