Maybe you need a caregiver, who will not only will care for you but also your home. If your low-income, elderly or ill you might qualify for services from Senior and Disabled Services, call for an assessment. or you could hire a cleaner from a service like Merry Maids to do a difficult cleaning job.

Agree with Sharon: First and foremost, always take good care of you. If you have a grandchild around 12 years old or up, consider asking them to take an old toothbrush to the grout with a paste of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide. You can also check with a local church or synagogue or perhaps your local Council on Aging for possible assistance. Good luck!

Hey Elaine, there are a number of grout cleaning products available at most hardware stores. Usually they are just liquid cleaning agents. My experience with them has always been that you need to put quite a bit of elbow grease behind them to get them to work though. If you don't feel you are up to that you may have to get someone to help you with this project. Best of luck!

Most all cities have an elder care network to help the elderly stay in their home. I would contact them to see if they have someone that would be willing to do the floors for you in exchange for something that you could do to help another elderly person with to help them stay in their home, mending, baking, a ride somewhere or who knows what. There have a lot of people to help with the menial repairs that the elderly may not be able to do anymore. I am nine years younger than Hubby and he has health and physical problems that has me doing a lot of the heavy work and lifting, running up and down stairs, etc. that allow him to take over a few of the easier things. I am lucky and I am healthy as a horse, haven't even had the flu since the seventies when it first showed up. I hope to be able to help him for many years to come and do the things he can't do anymore. I always thought when I was in my sixties that I would feel old, but I feel great other than stiffness in abused joints. See if you have grandkids or even your kids that can help you out with things like that, even if it is not every week, some help with the things you can't do. My mother will be 98 in a couple of months and my brother and I help her all the time. I bring her about five meals a week and take her to get her hair done every Thursday and them grocery shopping. We are trying to have her be able to stay where she is as long as possible. You can find a way, stay comfortable and take care of yourself, don't worry about the little stuff so much, you will probably be able to do some more as time goes by. When you are a senior, it takes longer and longer to recover from being ill.

Hi Elaine, Sorry to hear that you have been sick. To clean your grout, I recommend using a product called Oxi Clean Max Force. Do a test sample first. Then use an old toothbrush to scrub it into your grout. Let it set for 15 or 20 minutes. Then wipe up with a clean damp cloth. Sending you well wishes for a speedy recovery.

Scrubbing Bubbles may work as well. It does a great job on the grout in my bathroom.
