How do I hang pictures on a plaster wall?

My house was built in 1913. All the walls are plaster. What is the best way to hang pictures without destroying the walls?

i would go to the lumber yard and buy picture frame molding and put it around the room about 6 feet high. Then use cord or ribbon to hang your pictures from it. This is common in homes of that age.

There are hanging hooks made specifically for plaster. Ask the pro at the hardware store to help find the right ones.

Have you tried Command Strips? They have quite a variety to choose from now
Unless what you're hanging is very heavy, I agree with the Command Hook suggestions. If you are hanging something very heavy or large, you can always use two hooks to better distribute the weight.
