Buy glass stones that come in many colors (Walmart sells them) or fill them with small seashells, you can find them online (cheap) You can even paint some of the shells to add some colors that mingle with your home colors
I save them and use for crafts. Some I embellish and give away as gifts. Or offer to friends and neighbors! I get rid of a lot of give away items on Nextdoor.com too.

Here are lots of ideas for using them:

Use them to make dessert serving pieces - glue a pretty saucer to the top for cookies, a plate for cakes, etc. These add a special touch when giving a food gift during the holidays or as a hostess gift. You can use smaller ones like this as soap dishes also. Glue small glasses to the tops of vases to make candle holders.
I love to start Hyacinths and Tulip bulbs in them and give away as gifts with a pretty ribbon or bow attached.
