Please, can someone tell me what the difference is between the above four designs? They all seem to be alike, at least to me they do. I myself wouldn't know the difference if I saw one or the other. icon
Thank you. icon

They are basically the same. Homespun looks - look like they were created with existing materials by hand. Recycled items and repurposed ones.

Rustic think very poor . Vintage is a time period you are trying to duplicate, farmhouse ... chickens and checks. Distressed is cracked paint.

semantics! Vintage simply refers to the age ( usually over 25 years ) of a piece; Distressed is a 'finishing' technique -- not 'perfect', improvised signs of wear on arms of chairs/seats/backs, table edges where 'wear' would normally occur, or on plain wood, marks to mimic worm holes ( wormy pecan was very popular in the 60's ), or 'work' marks using chains, hammers, etc. to put dents/scars/marks IN the wood - not just on a painted surface; Rustic - as in 'unfinished' ... more frequently seen in 'Western' motifs -- and 'Farmhouse' is the 'new' word of the day --- decor that would mimic homes from the 20/40's -- the 'Family Farm' house. If you are too young to remember those --- it's a move back to a quieter/less is more/ approach to decorating ( and living!) ... Hope this helps -- but yes, they are all 'similar' and it really doesn't matter -- it's whatever you LIKE! It's YOUR home, your colors, your style! ENJOY IT!

Thank you all for answering and explainung. I agree they do look a lot alike. To be truthful, I personally can't stand the look, but that is just me. Everyone has their own tastes, that is what makes us all unique. A few more questions now if you all don't mind. Wasn't Art Deco 20/30's, and Mid Century for the 40's/60's era? I grew up in the 50's and 60's and remember all the new mid-century modern furniture that is showing up that I recognize. There have actually been several pieces of furniture that I've seen that we actually had. I do love that, plus I'm more if a contemporary sort a gal.

    Have a lovely day all!
