Should I spray on a sealer after painting my kitchen cabinets?

i recently painted my kitchen cabinets and a friend told me that I should spray on a sealer to preserve the finish. I gave my cabinets two coats of paint and I figured that should ensure a good finish.

I don't know when your cabinets were painted. Clean them with Murphy's oil soap, dry completely. Put Wilbert's lemon oil on the cabinets, follow directions for both steps. The best thing to do is put one more coat of high gloss paint in the color that you painted it. You don't need a sealer, the high gloss will protect the cabinets, and you can wash them with a warm rag and water. Easy to clean.

I would simply because of all the extra grease & cleaning that comes with being in a kitchen. You can get brush-on sealers in matte, satin & gloss finish (for me brush on is easier than dealing with a spray that can go every where), but they probably have the same finishes in sprays too. Check the cans for washability. Why risk all that time painting when a little bit more time with a sealer will protect your investment? Then clean with Murphy's Oil Soap which works for all but the worst messes. BTDT on painted cabinets, though not in a kitchen.
