seems that what you have tried should have worked, next step smother it out with black plastic

Boiling water kills plants. Get it to the roots however you can and the plants will not survive.

    😊

  • Sadly many weed killers not effective on these rascals. You might have to totally remove everything and apply a vegetation killer. Or hour of pulling them up by hand for them to soon come back.

You can try spraying the roots with vinegar to kill it out.

I have found that Ortho 'weed be gone' works on creeping Charlie where a lot of other products do not. It works on my problem weed - red sorrel. You can use a sprayer and mix up what is needed-use an old window cleaning sprayer if the area is small. Because of my situation (on a well and having a 2.5 acre lot) and a huge weed area, I mixed it up in 5 gallon pails, and dipped in a dedicated sprinkling can. I check it every year, sprinkling the sprouts that creep over from the neighbor's yard. that product worked great on the building my church bought that was abandoned for 5 years-the sparse grass lived and all the weeds are gone. Adding compost to the grass has improved it wonderfully.

Thank you Bruce that sounds like a good thing to try.
