What kind of décor do you have? You could remove the glass and get the gorgeous Edison type bulbs.. Or for something more fancy you could get the flat glass marbles and E6000 glue them all over the ones you have.
Make skirts/slipcovers with fabric, using elastic band or zip tie at top and hot glue at the bottom rim. Obviously you’ll use a lightweight fabric, and the color will depend on how much light you need in the room. A solid silk will show thru as stripes. There are also some gorgeous craft papers out there you could decoupage over the glass. Either way I would use LED bulbs as they don’t have the heat of incandescent. They’ll also last for years.
You can get glass paint and change the look of the globes. Check garage sales and second hand stores. You may find different globes that will fit. If you can find used globes with glass panels, remove the glass and replace with wire for an industrial look.
I think they are very pretty.
Go online, there are so many choices and some are very inexpensive.
Mod Pode or Elmer’s glue, mix in food coloring to shade...the neon works great, paint the outside. If you don’t like the finished product, soak in vinegar water to remove.
I have a similar issue. But... my son was trying to help vacuum off the dust from the fan and accidentally broke one of the thin Glass globes.. trying to replace one?? No.. nightmare to be sure... I found some at Walmart cheap cheap but sturdy.. they are frosted white so I’m going to paint them with the Martha Stewart glass paints to match my decor which is more of a farmhouse shabby clutter chic lol.. I have the glass but haven’t painted them.. thanks for Reminding me... I should do that today! I’m thinking Of an distressed ombré wash.. but not sure yet.. ugh!

Hey just saw this thing on tv where they put drops of nail polish in water and kind of rolled the glass through it. Real cool designs. No two alike.
