I have a lovely bright porch, but its very plain. So what I thought I would do is make a table that I can put on one side that I can then dress with some decorative pieces to add some interest.

View from the hallway
So to start with I used an old kitchen table and cut it down to size.
I also had an old nest of tables. I used the smallest table, I cut the top off so I could use the legs for my porch table.

Tale left from another project
I wanted to make use of these nest of tables
Once I had the table top cut to size and the legs ready I sanded them both with 120 grit sand paper, then I undercoated the t
I used the largest table from the set as a work bench.

Here I am using the two tables as a saw bench.
They came in very handy.
Ok its not the most expensive or professional looking dust free system.... But it works just fine.
Here I am using the two tables as a work bench again... At this point I had a EUREKA MOMENT (or a "Aha" moment) In the uk we seem to have tonnes of these old nest of tables that no one wants any more as they are bulky and old fashioned.
But because they are sturdy and well made, and they store away.I thought they could be converted to make a little work station, thats going to be my next project.
After sanding with 120 grit sand paper and wiping down with a cloth I undercoated the table top.
Once the undercoat was dry I sanded it with 320 grit sandpaper wipe down, the gave it the first top coat.
The legs I sanded with 120 grit paper then wiped down then painted black, the paint I am using here does not require any undercoat.
Drilled holes in the legs sectionn
With legs in position I put a strengthening piece holding everthing together.
And here it is, I had the picture kicking around for a while, but the frame was plaine pine.
I gave the frame a couple coats of paint and it turned out ok.
I dressed the table with a few piece I had around home.
I think it really transforms the porch?
