Baking soda is good, good for absorbing odors.
Borax, it will also absorb odors and as a bonus it kills fleas that can be brought in from your yard or pets in the summer. You can find Borax in the laundry detergent aisles. And you can add it your wash with your regular detergent! Bonus!
Good responses. I add a bit of baby powder to make it smell nicer. The baking soda and borax don't have any odor.
Baking soda
I use baking soda and borax. I let it sit on carpet for 2 hours and it's done. Another diyer said you can also put lemoin or lavender oil with the mix and it will also kill fleas without hurtiung your animals. I am trying it this weekend.
When I had a dog and lived in Florida the first thing I learned from my neighbor was to keep fresh Eucalyptus in the house. Sand fleas will not come in the lemon is also a repellent.

I use baking soda, sprinkle it over your carpet and let it set for 10 or so minutes, vacuum as usual.
