Decorating With Old Windows

Decorating with Old Windows has become very popular and just in case you are wondering how it's done, I have pulled together several different projects/examples, including one of my own, that uses old windows to bring a little farmhouse/rustic style to a space.
Let's get started with how I used a couple of old windows in my decor. I had windows replaced a couple of years ago and I kept a few of the windows. I added 2 to our shed outside (I still need to add the flower boxes) and I upcycled these two for my dining room. I didn't have to do much to make these fit into my modern farmhouse refresh for the room.  I left the paint chippy, cleaned them really well, and sealed with polyacrylic. The fit perfectly in that space and actually gave it new life.
I love what Indulgy.com did with their windows. What we have here is a very cutesy way to hang photos. They used smaller picture frames and simply hung them using what looks burlap ribbon to an old picture frame. This is both rustic and a bit traditional. The black frames make it a little traditional while the burlap ribbon and the old window lend themselves to a more rustic look. I could see this hanging next to or over a fireplace, or as the focal point of a gallery wall. I have a few more windows left...hummmmm.
This is one of my favorites. I started this project last spring but did not finish it. I hope I get to complete it this spring. ClickypixHow cute are these windows with added flower boxes? Painting the frames black gave these old windows a more upscaled look. Don't you think? And adding the flower boxes just adds the finishing touch. Believe it or not, I began this project on some extra windows I happened to have. They are hanging on either side of the door to our storage shed. We never got around to adding the flower boxes and I think that is what makes this project great and at least colorful. Think of how you could change out the flowers seasonally. Beautiful!

There are others and you can see my other picks on my website as I can only post a certain number of hyperlinks here.
