Big blank TV wall

thinking of hanging large single candle wall sconces on either side of TV. Would it be too busy with everything going on in the room? (dog crates, covers on furniture normally aren’t there)

Sure, why not! I would think it would look pretty and draw they eye up.
Have a large frame built to surround your TV and will look more like a picture and then put small long objects along the side of the frame it to decorate the wall
Not at all. Gallery walls are even really in style and that's where you cover up almost an entire wall with framed pictures and other wall art, so certainly the candles would not be.
Just a guess, without actually seeing the room. It depends on how much area you are working with. I have a large clock on one side of mine with an industrial look, and a couple of paintings on the other side (stacked, one above the other, not side by side). If you like the sconces and they are a good size to balance your TV size, I'd give it a try.
I have a tendency for clutter, too. It's a fine line between nurturing my gaudy style and keeping a room in order, so I say "try it". You can take it down if you feel it takes you over the edge. I personally think a wall sconce may dress up the dog crates and furniture covers.
Try uploading a picture that way we can see what exactly you are talking about. From the sounds of it, you should be fine to do what you were talking about doing.
if this is a very large tv, please don’t use a very small wall sconce. I know you said Large, but in balance to tv? I love busy walls, but balance is the thing. Actually, interesting is the thing too. It should make you smile And distract from the clutter in our lives.
i wouldn't hang anything on each side.
