It depends upon your last frost date. It is a little early.
Depends on where you live. We never plant until after Easter...which is 4/1/18. You can buy them now, but keep them protected and do not put them out until you are sure you the last frost is over!!!
My sister always had a SUPER garden and her rule of how to know when planting time arrives was to sit down on the ground for a few minutes...if your behind was cold when you stood up, it was too early to plant!
Hey, it's worth a try!!!
what is you location?
Your sister’s sensitive hinny is a great barometer - thanks for the idea. I guess it also works for soil dampness
Don’t plant tomatoes until Good Friday, along with peas and beans, unless you live in south Florida or California. ☺️
You cannot plant until after the risk of frost, where I live that is May 15. You should plant within a week or so of buying them. They are typically ready to be planted when you buy them, so you cannot hold them long.
Mine are still making tomatoes faster than I can eat but I live in San Diego. Where are you?
In the Texas hill country
