Plant suggestions for 12x3ft long space?

I'd like a garden. It is about 12 foot long and about 3 feet wide. What shrubbery plants might you suggest? I'd like some nice colour in there too. Our house is grey brick.

I have used CATMINT. Small green leaves with small purple flowers. It’s a perennial and drought resistant about 2 feet high and very easy to grow. Maintenance free and will flourish in SUN+ SHADE.

I'm no gardener BUT have learned one thing over the years! If the plant you're thinking of buying has thorns... do NOT do it! (Just a preference... )
