How long does fabric paint last if I paint on a pair of my jeans?

Much depends on what you used to 'paint'. Turning the jeans inside out (works with T-shirts) will reduce the effects of machine washing. With your next project wash before applying the art (get the sizing out of the fabric). We use 'Sharpie' permanent colored markers as NOTHING seem st remove a Sharpie mark

As far as I know, forever. I iron from the back or with a cloth over to set the paint as soon as it is dry. And, another thing is I rarely put anything like that in the dryer. Dryers are hard on your clothes. Anything I have ever5 painted stayed on permanently.

I painted sheets and pillowcases with just regular paint (latex) probably 10 years ago and it is still good.

I've done everything from t shirts to jeans with those little bottles in the craft department of Wal Mart. I think ironing it helps a lot. My son has done lots of tennis shoes, too.

If you don't use the dryer, which tends to dry out the paint, and cause it to crack, fabric paint should last years.

A pattern or other intentional embellishment applied to garments will endure approximately a year! Really, old-fashioned acrylic paint will stick to most fabrics very nicely and endure a long time.

Hi Debra, hope this helps you. It will stay on permanently if you heat set it. Heat-setting makes your painting permanent and turns that acrylic paint into an even more durable plastic.

Depends on how hownoften you wash them and at what temp!
