Another idea I have used is placing a fabric softener sheet into the bottom of pan (use enough to cover all burnt areas), pouring boiling water to cover by about 1/2", let it cool/soak for about 1 hr. Remove dryer sheet, wipe out pot. Can repeat if needed.

Water, Liquid dish detergent, generous amount of salt and bring to a moderate boil for several minutes. Don't let boil over! Should loosen right up

Put cream of tarter in pan and boil. A tablespoon should be enough. Let pot cool with water in it and rinse.

Boil some water and baking soda in the pot, it will loosen the food and you will then be able to clean the pot.

Put hot water and baking soda into the pot and let sit for a while. This should loosen enough so that you can scrape it out.

If the above doesn't work add a little salt to your hot water then simmer it on stove for few minutes.
